Film Review : Howl's Moving Castle

I love watch movie especially animation from Japan or Korea. I love their style of stories even it was a fairy tales story and just an imagination from the narrator, but they can delivered it with interesting. Before this I was already watched several animation like ‘Appleseed’, ‘Innocence’, ‘Spirited Away’, ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’, and many more. I exposed to this movie when my brother bought and tell me the stories from Japan and Korea. He also wants me to learn how to learn drawing style in these types of movies.

Here I wrote down the film review or summary from the most favorite movie of mine: ‘Howl’s Moving Castle’.

This film is about a young beautiful girl Sopie being cursed by a witch and is turned into a ninety-year-old woman. Forced to leave home, Sopie enters Howl’s moving castle by chance. Then she met scarecrow, a little fire named Casifa and fall in love with Howl. Howl was the best witch that can curse and use magic for helps; he also can change his identity until he got an invitation from the king to against the war. Howl have a college where ugly and not disciplined in using the magic. She used the magic to curse any innocent people and she already abandoned by the king. Little is known about the film, but from the few images available it should be another high quality animation film from the master. Already scheduled to complete for the Golden Lion in 2005 Venice film festival, one of the most prestigious awards in the world, it certainly seems that this is another masterpiece ready to be unleashed.

I hope our animator from Malaysia can learn from them that making every film with the whole soul they have to make sure the movie are very interested and the best story of the year. Good luck and this is the challenge for the animation company like Les Copaque and Animasia Studio.

What I Did in My Semester Break

There a long time for me not posting anything in my blog. Even though it is a long time I am not writing. Today, I want to continue my week 8 tasks which prefer me to write ‘What I Did in my Semester Break’. That was really awesome! Thanks to my parents for take care of me. Below, I listed what I did in one week holidays.

Thursday – 11.02.2010 : I am coming back from UMK and I arrived at home at 6.00 pm. I went back by bus with my friend Hasmah.

Friday – 12.02.2010 : This is my first time I cooked for this year. I’m very happy because I can cook for my parents. For the breakfast, I cooked them fried rice and tea. Then, I made my assignment on sketching. Next, I spend my leisure time to talk to my parents about the previous experiences in UMK. =)

Saturday – 13.02.2010 : On Saturday, I release my tension by watching television with my parents. Then, I read SRBT notes’ because I had an exam after the holiday. Next, I continue my day with sketching and learn English from surfing the internet. Finally, I cooked for my parents.

Sunday – 14.02.2010 : On Sunday, I spend my day by reading the comic books and sketches. I just cooked a common food today because there were a lot of foods my neighbor gave us.

Monday- 15.02.2010 : Today my day more cheerful because I met my friends, Hasmah and Syareena at Tanah Merah Town. I met them because we want to discuss about the assignment and we went to Mr. Adam’s house to learn how to draw. On the way to go to my teacher’s house, we found an uncle that we were not expecting that he can speak English fluently. We were very proud to have an educational uncle. =). When we were arrived at my teacher’s house, Mr. Adam though how to draw figure and at the end he gave us a pray (doa’).

Tuesday- 16.02.2010 : Tuesday is my experience day when I have a walked with my father in Kubang Kerian and Kota Bharu. We were planned to go to Bank Islam. We do not know what the bus number to go to Kubang Kerian and just followed the signboard. After we finished and settled at the bank, we went to Pasar Siti Khadijah to have a lunch and bought her soup. Besides that, my niece coming home and I bought him toys.
Wednesday- 17.02.2010 : Today, I only spend my time by staying at home and cooked for my parents. For breakfast, I served them with fried rice and at the afternoon I cooked their favorite fried foods which are fried fish and cow’s heart. Then I study for my SRBT, do my sketches and lastly I learn how to set up scanner and how to use it.

Thursday- 18.02.2010 : Today, my mom and I made Nasi Kerabu, one of the famous food in Kelantan and the most favorite food for my mother. There were first time I saw her ate that much. Before this she just ate for a little because of bad health condition. I like that. Thanks God!

Friday- 19.02.2010 : Friday make me nervous because tomorrow I will go back to UMK and left my parents alone. Today, I try harder to finish up my assignment and read for the test. I also give a hand to my parents in everything they want me to do.
Saturday- 20.02.2010 : Today, I went back to UMK and started to be busy because this semester was the most busiest semester for me. 

Planning For My Semester Break

My semester break will be on Thursday, 11 February 2010, after my visual presentation class that will handed by Mr. Ramli. How happy I am. On Thursday, I will be prepared and packaged my bags to go home. In this semester break, I am already has a plan to make sure there are no leisure time for me to sleep. =)

First and foremost, I want to cook for my parents, I want to cook their favourite foods like chicken rice, beriani, soups, and all what foods they like. I miss them, since I was a small naughty daughter; they cooked for me every day. So, it is my turn to cook for them. Even though I cannot cook as delicious as her, but I will try harder to cook for them. I will be a new chef in my house. #8)

Secondly, I want to tidy up my house and my mother’s flowers pot. I know she loves gardening, but since she had stroke, her movement was limited and she could not do what she loves. My mother plants have a lot of flowers until I cannot identify it accurately. Besides that, she also plants vegetables like chilies and many more vegetables in her pots.

Thirdly, I want to finish up my assignments. Even though I have 9 days holidays, but I have a lot of assignments especially in my major course. In fundamental of studio, I have to finish up all my drawing and sketching because we are having an assessment after semester break. Then in English I have to finish up my grammar assignment and study for it. Besides that, I have to keep on study because first week after the semester break, I have two tests which is SRBT and TITAS. However, it reminds me not too leisure in my holidays, there are a lot of things in front and I have to face it.

Maybe this is my last planning for my semester break and could be a routine when I come back from holidays. In this semester break and parallel with Chinese New Year celebration, I have a plan to meet my friends in Machang. I would go to see my teacher’s son who had sick since last year. Then I might to meet my art teacher, Mr. Adam Ibrahim who gives me support in anything I do. Besides that, I also make an appointment with Shareena and Hasmah to go to Tanah Merah town and Jeli’s library. There are a lot of thing to do with them. How’s great it is!!!!

That’s all for my planning for the holidays. I hope I can manage my time wisely. Last but not least, I want to wish a great thank you for all my lecturers and my friends in Malaysia University of Kelantan (UMK). They are Mr. William (English II), Mr. Nawi Ali, Mr. Rashid Osman, and Mr. Ramli (Fundamental of Studio and Visual Presentation), Mr. Shariman (TITAS), Mr. Rooshihan Merican (fundamental of entrepreneurship), and Mr. Fauzi (SRBT).

The Night Coffee

It was a Valentine night. There was a couple promised to meet up to celebrate the happiest and lovely relationship which aged 2 year old. They kept on promise to meet at the Coffee Shop. There was the first place they felt in love where it was an event organized by their company. It performs the employer and employees to close-up with the administration's staff from the both of the company.

That night, Rachel dreams her previous romantic night where they were dancing together in the Coffee Shop with the lovely song by Michael Bubble'.
K RING...! K RING...! Rachel phone rang. All her dream vanished away. But she smiles because Robert called for her.

'Hello Honey... when you want to fetch me up? I'm already waiting for you about 15 minutes.' Rachel acts to sulk.

'Rachel... I'm already on my way to postpone our planning to go to the Coffee Shop.' Said Robert with a sore voice.

' But, why? You promised me.' Rachel mad.

'Listen to me my Dear, please...' Robert appealed to Rachel.

'Mr. Edward called me recently...'

‘why ? ' Asked Rachel.

'He told me to bring the business plan to him tonight because he forgot to take it at the office. Now he is in airport and his flight due on 10 o'clock. He have to go to see a client from China tomorrow'. Explained Robert to Rachel.

Robert looked at her watch and it already 9.50p.m.

‘Oh no, hurry up Honey. We have 10 more minutes to give the document to him.’ Her voice sounded worried.

Recently, PON...! PON...!

‘Hurry up Dear, I’m outside.’

‘Okay, I got you.’

On their way to go to the airport, Robert’s car broke down.

They have to find another way to get Mr. Edward on time. Rachel wanted to use her phone to call the taxi but her battery was out. What an unfortunately day for them. That night should be their romantic night but now it became changed into serious situations.

Luckily, there was a bus cross the way that their car broke down.

They felt very happy and they have their way to airport by bus. But they were late because it already 10.02 p.m.

But, one more time they were unluckily. The bus crashed with a motorcycle and the bus slide accidently at the edge of the road. All the passengers rolled away to the in front and felt down.

They felt down too but they know they were late and they chasing out from the window to avoid the crowded with the other passengers.

They do not care about the wound they got because they hurried in getting their boss.
‘ Rachel, an airport are not far from here, isn’t it ? ‘ Asked Robert.

‘ Yeah, it’s only a hundred meter to go there.’

‘ Are you thinking what I’m thinking Dear?’

‘ Yeah, I’m understand.’

Then, they decide ran to the airport as fast as they could.

At last, they reached their safely and their boss waiting for them at the airport doorway.

Mr. Edward move his arm to signal them and they ran to him.

‘ Oh God, thankful, you’re helping me too much.’

‘ But, we are late.’ Both of them answered.

‘ Oh… No…No… you’re not late, I have a mistake in telling you the time. My flight will be on 11 p.m. I’m sorry because my sectary just informs me recently.’
Both of them felt very easy to hear about it, even though they have a hard time to come over.

‘KRING… KRING…’ Mr. Edward phones rang.

‘Hello, yes speaking. Yeah, both of them are my employees….. Okay, I will tell them. You’re welcome.’

Mr. Edward stared on them after answering the phone.

They were confusing.

‘ Police called me.’

They were shock. Both of them asked ‘why?!’

‘ Why don’t you tell me that both of you having an accident on your way you came here!’

They bow their head and stared on the floor.

Robert bravely try to voice his out.

‘ Err… Mr. Edward … we are not expected that…’

‘ Stop…! I won’t hear anything from you!’ Mr. Edward seems mad.
He silences for a moment.

‘Emm… Don’t worry, I’m just joking. The police called me to tell both of you to make a report about the bus crashed.’ He smiled.

Both of them sight, then, all of them laughed.

After they sent Mr. Edward, they had their way to go to the Police Station to make a report. About 15 minutes, all the procedures finished.

They walked home together. On their way to go home, Robert hold Richard’s hand.
‘ My Dear, now my watch shown it was 11.45, and it’s still early for us to have a cup a coffee at the Coffee Shop.’ He smiled.

Richard bowed her head twice and smiled to Robert.

Then, they were walking to the Coffee Shop by holding their hands together and sang a song dedicated by Boyzone. The song titled ‘words’.

That night, they talk and dance until the Coffee Shop closed at 1 o’clock in the morning.

They felt very happy. They will remember this moment all over their life because they know they can live each together and understanding each other all the time.

Election Day for UMK..!

On 28th JANUARY 2010, there's an election day for the contestant of MPP. this is my first time for me to select the person I consider to be a leader for my faculty and my University Malaysia Kelantan.

My Faculty had 3 contestant which are Andi Nurshuhada Abdul Kadir, Mohd Nur Aizat, and Nor suzila Ahmad. They fight under Faculty of Creative Technology and Heritage. My phone rang all the time because there were campaign from the contestant, but it's ok because I know they could be a good and the best leader to us.

I'm very proud with my friends who involve in MPP. There a big responsibility they have to bring along. They absolutely very intelligent because they can separate the time for study and for the leadership. Congratulation my friends...!!

Recently I went for the seminar at USM, the seminar was talking about 'transformation in leadership'. One of the instructor named Amin Idris who introduced us about the 'self magnetic: create extraordinary influence and success'. There a lot of tips and formulae to be a good leader and one of them that I still remember until now was... when a leader smile you have to smile like say the number of 'threeeee' or in malay utter it like this ' tigeeee'..

That all for now, whatever happened, be a good leader even you are in an organisation or be a leader to yourself.
